CVE-2023-23902Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Pre-auth remote code execution via password decryption

Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Milesight UR32L 32.3.0.5 allows remote attackers to execute code through the HTTP login password. The uhttpd decrypt_string function AES-decrypts attacker-controlled, Base64-decoded password data into a fixed 72-byte stack buffer without checking the resulting length. Network access to the router's HTTP server is sufficient before authentication, and a return-address overwrite can execute commands as root.
