Reflected XSS via unescaped NTP server input
Published Apr 28, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Reflected XSS in the NETGEAR SRX5308 Web Management Interface 4.3.5-3 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The time-zone handler at scgi-bin/platform.cgi?page=time_zone.htm returns the ntp.server1 value in generated HTML without neutralizing script content. Administrative access is required to submit the setting, and a user must render the crafted response; successful exploitation alters content in that browser context.
