Stored XSS via unsanitized admin settings
Published May 3, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Himanshu Parashar's Bing Site Verification plugin using Meta Tag 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The admin settings path stores input without sufficient sanitization and renders it without output escaping, causing browsers to execute the saved payload. Exploitation requires administrator-level access and affects multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; viewing an injected page triggers the script.
