Authenticated source overwrite via unchecked function modules
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Missing authorization in SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP 700, 701, 702, 731, 740, 750, 751, and 752 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite code. The remote-enabled BC_PR_INSERT and BC_PR_UPDATE function modules accept ABAP program changes without the necessary authorization check. Reaching the flaw requires an authenticated account with substantial privileges; successful exploitation overwrites ABAP source and impairs the affected program.
