Browser script execution via unescaped admin settings
Published Apr 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Davinder Singh WordPress Custom Settings 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The plugin stores administrator-supplied settings without sufficient input sanitization and renders them without output escaping, causing saved scripts to execute when an affected page is opened. Administrator-level access is required, and exploitation affects multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled and requires another user to open the injected page.
