CVE-2023-23772Network attack vector

Code execution via unsigned firmware updates

Published Aug 29, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Improper firmware signature verification in Motorola MBTS Site Controller R05.32.58 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The firmware update path accepts packages without validating a cryptographic signature, so attacker-supplied images can run on the controller. High-privilege management access is required; successful installation exposes secret key material and supports a persistent device implant.
