Email capture modification via missing nonce validation
Published May 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Rhys Wynne WP Email Capture 3.9.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify email captures. The wp_email_capture_options_process() function accepts state-changing requests without validating a WordPress nonce before updating capture data. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to visit a crafted page or link, and the forged request can alter stored capture records.
