CVE-2023-23697

Arbitrary folder deletion via unsafe junction handling

Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 21, 2025

Arbitrary folder deletion in Dell Command | Update before 4.4.0 allows local users to delete folders during Intel vPro Out of Band removal. The uninstaller removes a path without preventing its redirection through an attacker-controlled Windows junction or mount point outside the installation tree. A low-privileged authenticated user must trigger the local uninstall path; deletion can interrupt software or the system if operational folders are targeted.
