CVE-2023-23691Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting and service interruption via desynchronization

Published Jan 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025

Client-side desynchronization in Dell PowerVault ME5 before ME5.1.1.0.5 allows remote attackers to cause XSS and service interruption. The affected locus is the PowerVault Manager website; Dell has not published the HTTP parsing discrepancy that desynchronizes browser and server response boundaries. Exploitation is unauthenticated over the management website; successful desynchronization enables cross-site scripting in a victim browser or interrupts the management service.
