CVE-2023-23684Network attack vector

Authenticated SSRF via unvalidated media file path

Published Nov 13, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

SSRF in WPGraphQL 1.14.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with media-upload rights to make server-side requests. The createMediaItem mutation passes its filePath argument to file_get_contents and download_url without first validating the URL or restricting its destination. Editor-level upload_files capability is required, and successful requests can reach resources available from the WordPress server.
