CVE-2023-23659Network attack vector

Unauthorized settings changes via missing nonce validation

Published Feb 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in MainWP Matomo Extension 4.0.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings via forged requests. The extension accepts a settings-changing request without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, allowing the request to run under an administrator's active session. Exploitation requires an administrator to visit a crafted page or click a malicious link; the documented impact is unauthorized modification of plugin settings.
