Restricted data disclosure via unauthorized subscription editing
Published Jan 28, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Improper privilege management in affected Metabase releases allows remote authenticated users to receive restricted dashboard data by email. The dashboard-subscription update path lets a lower-privileged viewer add an account to a subscription owned by a higher-privileged user and renders emailed charts with the owner's data permissions. Exploitation requires dashboard-view access, an existing higher-privileged subscription, and configured email delivery; the consequence is disclosure of data beyond the recipient's assigned permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
