CVE-2023-2359Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated remote code execution via unchecked image imports

Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 12, 2024

Arbitrary file upload in Slider Revolution 6.6.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place executable files through manual import. The manual-import handler trusts file paths declared in slider_export.txt and writes a substituted PHP file from the archive into wp-content/uploads/revslider without validating it as an image. Import access is admin-only by default but can be granted to Editor and Author roles; code execution requires PHP execution in the uploads directory.
