CVE-2023-2358Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via plaintext Hadoop step passwords

Published Sep 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024

Cleartext password storage in Pentaho Business Analytics Server before 9.3.0.5 or version 9.5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read credentials. The Hadoop Copy Files step persists its password value as plaintext instead of protecting it in saved job data. A valid low-privileged server session is required, and exposure is limited to the password associated with the saved step.
