Session script execution via unescaped BI parameter
Published Aug 1, 2023 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Reflected XSS in Checkmk 1.6.0 through 1.6.0p30 and before 2.0.0p38, 2.1.0p32, or 2.2.0p8 allows remote attackers to run script. The wato.py BI aggregations route reflects the bulk_moveto query parameter into its response without escaping HTML or JavaScript. Exploitation requires another BI pack besides the default and a legitimate user to click a prepared link, placing the script in that user's valid session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
