Subscriber-level site modification via unchecked AJAX dispatch
Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Directory Kit 1.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify or delete site data. The ajax_admin function dispatches subscriber-controlled administrative actions without checking the caller's capability, exposing settings changes, demo import, Directory Kit post and term deletion, and arbitrary plugin installation. A WordPress account with Subscriber privileges is sufficient; affected actions can alter plugin configuration or remove Directory Kit content.
