CVE-2023-23507

Kernel code execution via insufficient bounds checks

Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 11, 2025

Memory-safety flaw in the Intel Graphics Driver in Apple macOS Monterey before 12.6.3 and Ventura before 13.2 allows local users to run kernel code. The driver performs inadequate bounds checks while handling app-supplied data, permitting an out-of-bounds memory operation; Apple has not disclosed the affected routine or data structure. Exploitation requires a user to run a malicious app, after which code executes with kernel privileges and can control the affected Mac.
