Unauthenticated SQL injection via unescaped search parameter
Published Jan 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
SQL injection in Easy Digital Downloads 3.1.0.2 and 3.1.0.3 allows remote attackers to execute attacker-chosen SQL without authentication. The edd_ajax_download_search() function inserts the s parameter from the public edd_download_search AJAX action into an SQL statement without escaping it. No account is required; the published proof of concept executes a database SLEEP operation, demonstrating attacker-controlled query execution.
