Unauthorized data access via REST authorization failure
Published May 15, 2023 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Improper access control in SICK FTMg firmware before 2.x allows remote authenticated users to read protected data through the REST interface. The REST authorization layer accepts a low-privilege account for data-field requests without enforcing the permissions intended for those fields. Network access and an unprivileged account are required; exploitation discloses sensor data but does not alter it or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
