Service interruption via unauthenticated UDP IP reconfiguration
Published May 12, 2023 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Missing authentication in all firmware versions of SICK Flexi gateways allows remote attackers to disrupt access via broadcast UDP packets. The gateway IP-configuration interface accepts broadcast UDP packets without authentication and applies the requested network settings. Reachability requires access to the gateway's broadcast domain; changing its address can interrupt network availability.
