Account takeover via unencoded grid metadata
Published Apr 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Stored XSS in Pimcore before 10.5.21 allows remote authenticated users to steal an administrator's session cookie through a saved grid. The grid save controller stores attacker-controlled grid names and descriptions without HTML encoding, and grid rendering inserts the stored values into markup. A backend account is required to save the payload, and a victim must view the affected DataObject grid for browser-side script execution and session theft.
