CVE-2023-2335Network attack vector

Administrator credential disclosure via cleartext Autologon registry value

Published Apr 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025

Cleartext credential storage in 42Gears SureLock for Windows 2.3.12 through 2.40.0 allows attackers to read an Autologon password. The Autologon feature writes its administrative password unencrypted to a Windows registry value instead of protecting the stored credential. Reading it requires administrative registry access, either locally or over the same network when Remote Registry is enabled, and discloses the administrator credential.
