MFA bypass via on-logon scheduled task
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Authentication bypass in IS Decisions UserLock MFA 11.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to reach a Windows desktop via a scheduled task. An administrator-created on-logon task starts explorer.exe after domain-credential acceptance, allowing the desktop shell to run outside the MFA-gated interactive logon path. Administrative rights are required to create the task; successful exploitation bypasses the second factor for the task-launched desktop session.
