Arbitrary file access via undisclosed sandbox error
Published Jul 28, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Sandbox escape in Google Chrome before 112.0.5615.49 on Windows allows remote attackers to read and write files after renderer compromise. Google identifies the locus only as the Sandbox component and has not disclosed the implementation error that mishandles the malicious file. Exploitation requires prior renderer compromise and user interaction with the file; access is bounded to arbitrary file reads and writes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
