Reflected XSS via unescaped debug parameters
Published Jul 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024
Reflected XSS in AdvancedCoding wpForo Forum before 2.1.9 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser via a crafted forum URL. With debug mode enabled, frontend diagnostic output renders a supplied request parameter without HTML escaping or output encoding. Exploitation requires a visitor to follow the crafted URL, and the injected script runs only in that visitor's browser context.
