Stored XSS via unencoded asset details rendering
Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Stored XSS in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, ServiceDesk Plus MSP, and AssetExplorer allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a viewer's browser. The asset details client renders stored user-supplied data without encoding it, causing malicious script content to execute when the asset page is viewed. Exploitation requires crafted content to be stored on an asset details page and a user to view that page, enabling browser-context data access and actions.
