Stored script execution via unencoded username
Published Jan 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Kalkun 0.8.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted username. User_model.php trims and stores the submitted username without sanitization, and main/dock.php later echoes the session username without output encoding. Exploitation requires the crafted username to be stored and rendered when a user logs in, exposing that browser session to unauthorized data access or actions available to the user.
