Resource exhaustion in the Linux kernel before 5.17.2 allows local users to interrupt service by leaking device references. The qmp_get function calls of_find_device_by_node but omits put_device when platform_get_drvdata returns no QMP instance, leaking the acquired platform-device reference on the deferred-probe error path. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and a system using the Qualcomm AOSS driver; public sources do not identify the user-controlled trigger.
