Authenticated database query execution via profile fields
Published Jan 11, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
SQL injection in WebChess 0.9.0 and earlier and 1.0.0.rc2 allows remote authenticated users to execute database queries. The mainmenu.php profile update passes attacker-controlled txtFirstName and txtLastName values into a database statement without proper neutralization. A valid user session is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates time-based query execution through a ten-second database delay.
