CVE-2023-22957Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Sensitive credential disclosure via embedded Triple DES key

Published Aug 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Hard-coded key use in libac_des3.so on AudioCodes IP Phones through 3.4.4.1000 allows attackers to decrypt configuration-file secrets. The library embeds a 24-byte Triple DES key and an 8-byte CBC IV at fixed offsets, so copied encrypted values can be decrypted outside the phone. Access to a backup or configuration file is required; recovered values include credentials and the device root password, enabling further device compromise.
