Published Jan 11, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Incorrect authorization in MediaWiki GrowthExperiments through 1.39 allows remote authenticated users to alter mentorship settings. The growthmanagementorlist API fails to consult the API-specific block state before processing enrollment or property-update requests. An account blocked from ApiManageMentorList remains authenticated and can enroll as a mentor or change its own mentorship-related properties.
