CVE-2023-22942Network attack vector

Configuration modification via state-changing GET request

Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 28, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Splunk Enterprise before 8.1.13, 8.2.10, and 9.0.4 allows remote attackers to alter SSG KV store data. The ssg/kvstore_client REST endpoint accepts state-changing collection updates through an HTTP GET request without verifying request intent. Exploitation requires user interaction with SSG and Splunk Web enabled and can edit minor configuration or disable minor functionality.
