Local Administrator escalation via hard-coded database credentials
Published Apr 26, 2023 · Updated Feb 3, 2025
Hard-coded credentials in ManageEngine Access Manager Plus build 4309 allow local users to escalate from low privileges to Administrator. A low-privileged Windows user can authenticate to the loopback PostgreSQL server, use COPY FROM PROGRAM to alter the web application configuration, and restart the administrative service so a planted JSP grants local Administrator membership. Public records also name Password Manager Pro and PAM360, but they do not disclose affected version bounds or an equally detailed exploitation chain for those products.
