Cross-site scripting in Openfind Mail2000 7 and 8 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript through uploaded files. The file-upload function accepts special characters in user-controlled content without sufficient filtering, allowing script markup to reach a browser. Exploitation requires a general user account and user interaction; successful execution can read or alter data available to the browser session.
