CVE-2023-22888Network attack vector

Authenticated service disruption via unvalidated run identifier

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Oct 4, 2024

Improper input validation in Apache Airflow before 2.6.3 allows remote authenticated users to disrupt service via a crafted run_id. DagRun creation accepted user-supplied run_id values without validating them against a safe character pattern. An authenticated UI or API account able to trigger a DAG run is required, and successful exploitation interrupts Airflow availability without reported data exposure or modification.
