CVE-2023-22880Network attack vector

Typed-text disclosure via cloud spellcheck routing

Published Mar 16, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025

Information disclosure in affected Zoom Windows clients allows remote authenticated users to transmit typed text to Microsoft's spellcheck service. An affected Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime routes client text to Microsoft's online Spellcheck service instead of local Windows Spellcheck. A signed-in user must enter text in an affected client, and the resulting exposure discloses that text without altering data or interrupting meetings.
