CVE-2023-22832Network attack vector

Server file disclosure via unrestricted external entities

Published Feb 10, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

XXE in ExtractCCDAAttributes in Apache NiFi 1.2.0 through 1.19.1 allows remote attackers to read server files via malicious XML. The loadDocument method passes the incoming FlowFile stream to CDAUtil.load without disabling DTD processing or external-entity resolution. Exploitation requires a flow containing this processor to receive an attacker-controlled XML document; the published assessment limits impact to confidentiality.
