CVE-2023-22817

Loopback service access via RESTSDK DNS rebinding

Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Server-side request forgery in Cloud OS 5, Cloud Home Duo, and SanDisk ibi firmware allows remote attackers to reach loopback services. The RESTSDK server accepts a URI without adequately validating its destination, so a rogue local-network server can change DNS resolution to the appliance loopback address. No authentication is required; a successful chain with another local flaw executes code as root.
