CVE-2023-22814Network attack vector

Unauthenticated impersonation via spoofed authentication tokens

Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024

Authentication bypass in Western Digital's OS 5 NAS platform before 5.26.202 allows remote attackers to impersonate users via spoofed tokens. The token-based authentication mechanism accepts spoofed authentication material as valid, but Western Digital has not disclosed the affected endpoint, token field, or validation error. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful exploitation assumes another account's identity, while the vendor does not specify the actions available to that identity.
