CVE-2023-22813

Device information disclosure via unauthenticated cross-origin requests

Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025

Information disclosure in Western Digital and SanDisk mobile and web apps allows remote attackers to obtain device information. The device API endpoint accepts cross-origin requests for private IP addresses under a permissive CORS policy without requiring authentication. Exploitation requires the attacker to share the device network and convince a victim user to visit an attacker-controlled server, exposing device information only.
