CVE-2023-22784Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via PAPI buffer overflow

Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Buffer overflow in PAPI services on Aruba Access Points running affected ArubaOS or InstantOS versions allows remote attackers to execute code. The underlying services mishandle crafted packets sent to PAPI UDP port 8211, but HPE has not disclosed the affected routines or copy operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary code as a privileged operating-system user.
