CVE-2023-22757Network attack vector

Unauthenticated privileged code execution via PAPI buffer overflows

Published Feb 28, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025

Buffer overflows in HPE Aruba Networking controller and gateway software allow remote attackers to execute privileged code via crafted PAPI packets. Multiple underlying operating system processes copy attacker-controlled PAPI packet data without adequate bounds enforcement, although HPE has not identified the processes or fields. Unauthenticated access to the PAPI service is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code with underlying operating system privileges.
