Unauthenticated privileged code execution via PAPI command injection
Published Feb 28, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Command injection in the PAPI service of HPE Aruba Networking AOS allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code as a privileged user. The service processes specially crafted UDP/8211 packets without neutralizing command elements, but HPE has not identified the affected handler or packet field. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants privileged control of the underlying operating system.
