Unauthenticated privileged code execution via PAPI command injection
Published Feb 28, 2023 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Command injection in ArubaOS PAPI processing allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code as a privileged operating-system user. HPE identifies crafted datagrams sent to the PAPI service on UDP port 8211 as the vector but does not disclose the affected routine or its unsafe command construction. No authentication or user interaction is required; reachability of UDP/8211 permits complete privileged control of the underlying system.
