CVE-2023-22736Network attack vector

Cross-namespace application deployment via skipped allowlist

Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025

Authorization bypass in Argo CD 2.5.0-rc1 through 2.5.7 and 2.6.0-rc4 allows remote authenticated users to deploy out-of-scope Applications. With controller sharding enabled, the reconciliation path skips the configured application.namespaces glob allowlist when it processes an updated Application. Exploitation requires apps-in-any-namespace, multiple controller replicas, create or update access, and an AppProject whose sourceNamespaces permits the target namespace.
