Directory content modification via missing Quick Import nonce
Published May 22, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Jeroen Peters Name Directory 1.27.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to force an administrator to import names. The Quick Import handler processes submitted directory entries without validating a WordPress nonce, so a forged request is accepted in the administrator's session. Successful exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to visit or submit attacker-controlled content and can create a new directory populated with attacker-chosen entries.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
