Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized settings
Published Mar 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Better Emails 0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to run script in another user's browser. The settings path stores and later renders some configuration values without sanitization or context-appropriate escaping; public sources do not identify the affected setting names. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and a victim to view the injected content, including where unfiltered_html is disabled on multisite.
