Authenticated command execution via unsanitized hostname
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Nov 14, 2024
OS command injection in Milesight UR32L 32.3.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a crafted hostname. The libzebra.so change_hostname function checks only the first character, embeds the remaining input in a quoted uci command, and passes it to system. Admin-level console access and network reachability are required; successful injection executes operating-system commands and can interrupt service by rebooting the router.
