CVE-2023-22629Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file placement via newPath traversal

Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

Path traversal in TitanFTP 1.94.1205 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place uploaded files anywhere via crafted move requests. The move-file function accepts traversal sequences in the newPath parameter without restricting the destination to an authorized directory. A TitanFTP account with file-upload access is required; because the service runs as NT SYSTEM, malicious DLL placement can lead to code execution at that privilege level.
