Administrative access via leaked active session ID
Published Apr 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Authentication bypass in Securepoint UTM before 12.2.5.1 allows remote attackers to access its administrative interface using a leaked session ID. The /spcgi.cgi login handler returns the last active user's session ID after an invalid authentication attempt instead of withholding it. Exploitation requires an active session, a matching source address, and the victim's User-Agent; success grants the leaked user's privileges.
